The Pool is OPEN for 2010! - May 18th |
The 2010 Woodlawn neighborhood pool season is HERE. The pool is now OPEN.As a reminder, residents are given one pool access card per household, additional cards are allowed. Your card from last year will work this year (assuming you are up to date on your HOA dues). If you have lost your pool card, a replacement card can be purchased from the HOA. There have been a few changes to last year's pool rules and regulations. Pool operating hours are the same as last year and are posted below. Remember that the pool belongs to you, residents of Woodlawn. It is our HOA dues that pay to maintain the pool area, as well as to repair any damage caused by vandalism. We do employ a pool attendant during the weekdays but it is everyone's duty to "police" the pool and enforce the rules and regulations. Specifically pay close attention to any afterhours activity that may be going on in the pool area and call the Raleigh police should you notice any trespassing after hours. We have had some vandalism in and around the pool area over the years, so reporting this type of activity should help with that problem. The HOA has added some motion-activated lights for the pool area as well as a street light in the pool parking lot, again to help prevent any afterhours trespassing. Also pay close attention to any uninvited guests using the pool. All users of the pool area should have a pool access card and be ready to show that card as a form of valid access upon questioning by any other resident. If you see someone that should not be in our pool ask to see their access card. If they cannot provide the card they should not be there and should be asked to leave. Do not prop open the gate to allow others in, the gate and our access cards are the only way to ensure that only Woodlawn residents use the pool. Our pool is a private pool; it is not a Raleigh community pool. Finally we need to closely monitor and enforce the minimum age for unaccompanied minors using the pool. Should there ever be an accident in the pool or pool area by an unaccompanied minor (under the age of 16), the rise in the HOA's insurance costs and any possible litigation against the HOA would most likely cause the closure of the pool. As always, if you have any questions or concerns about the pool you can contact Lynn Peed, our PPM rep, or email the pool committee. Contact info for Lynn and the pool committee are listed here on the website. Pool hours: Monday - Sunday: 8:00am - 9:00pm There is no lifeguard on duty but there is a pool attendant on site during the week from 9:00am – 5:00pm. Look forward to seeing you there. |

Plaster Stains - 2009 Season |
| Many of us are concerned with the staining on the plaster at the pool. At the HOA meeting on 09/15 the owners of the contracting company and the pool maintenance company were on location to discuss causes/options to fix. So far the cause is unknown, but still under investigation. Water tests have shown that there is nothing to be concerned with. Wake Co Health Dept was also not alarmed with the staining. It appears to be all cosmetic but the HOA board is still pushing to get it resolved. More details will be posted as they are found out. | |
